Scientology Volunteer Minister’s Bringing Help in Edinburgh
Edinburgh, Scotland — August 2026
On August 15th 2026, in the midst of the Edinburgh Festival, visitors to Edinburgh’s city centre were able to spot a distinctive sight: a bright yellow tent manned by Scientology Volunteer Ministers, offering people the opportunity to stop, talk and discover practical tools for dealing with some of life’s everyday challenges.
The Volunteer Ministers took to the streets of Edinburgh with their familiar yellow tent and a simple message: “Something Can Be Done About It.”
Rather than simply handing out leaflets, the volunteers engaged with people who were interested, taking the time to talk to them, answer questions and show them information about a range of practical tools for improving life.
For those who wanted to explore the material further, the volunteers provided QR codes allowing people to access free online Scientology courses through www.
The online courses are based on material from The Scientology Handbook and cover subjects such as communication and study, relationships, marriage and parenting all the way to organising better, achieving goals and dealing with conflict. The courses are available online, are free to access and are in many languages.
“It’s important to us to show people what Scientology actually is and what it can do to help people,” said a local Scientology Volunteer Minister. “For so many areas of life we have practical tools that can be used to improve things, and with our online courses it can be done completely free.”
The Edinburgh outreach is part of the wider Scientology Volunteer Minister programme, which operates in communities around the world. Volunteer Ministers have the role of providing practical help and making information and training available to anyone who wants it. Scientology Volunteer Ministers are also known for their disaster response efforts which they frequently respond to the world over.
The bright yellow tent is designed to be open and approachable, giving members of the public a chance to come inside, look at the information displayed and speak with a volunteer minister to get their questions answered.
